I used this in my daughters crib. All I needed is her to put the snap in her mouth and choke. Also, there were 2 other defective snaps which I'm sure were bound to come off eventually. I called the company about this and they were aware of a "bad batch of these pads" but apparently they never considered recalling the defective one so beware where you buy this. If you get it directly from Naturepedic website you are probably ok. If buying from an outside authorized vendor be careful. I suggested using velcro. That seems safer to me. Even if the snaps arent defective, your child can pull the top part off while alone in the crib if they pick at it enough.

It makes changing the sheets less of hassle and we have had no problems with the snaps. Our (now)2 1/2 year old has never undone them and we've never felt that he was unsafe in the crib. At this point one of the sides of the crib has been removed so it's a toddler bed and even with only 3 sides of snaps being used the sheet doesn't shift around or come loose unintentionally. We also love that it is certified organic and made in the United States.
Our son seems happy and comfortable.
